About the Macedon Ranges

Located in close proximity to the north of Melbourne, the Macedon Ranges are a true cool to cold climate wine producing region.

The premium sparkling varieties of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are ideally suited to this climate that regularly receives winter snow. But there are surprises with other varieties such as Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling being produced in smaller, family owned and operated vineyards. Invariably, you’ll get to meet the winemaker or owner which will generally enhance your experience and appetite for the region.

There’s a wealth of other wonderful attractions that include the mysterious Hanging Rock, the stunning gardens around Mt Macedon, the spa town of Daylesford and the lavender fields in Hepburn Springs.
