Vineyards are terrific venues for celebrations and we're well aware of how popular they are amongst the wedding market. Increasingly, they're also being considered for 'birthdays of significance' where smaller groups are looking for a more meaningful experience that their guests will recall long after the event is over.

Thinking of what you could do to arrange a 40th birthday for a small group of friends? Consider an afternoon collection by mini-bus that takes you out into the Yarra Valley to the small, family owned Kellybrook Vineyard. Here you'd enjoy a wine tasting with cheese and biscuits plus an audience with one of the winemaking team. Continue into the valley to the historic Yering Station Vineyard at Yering where a late afternoon tasting would feature in the original winery (circa 1859). You'd then have time to enjoy a cleansing ale enroute to a degustation dinner at the De Bortoli Winery & Restaurant at Dixons Creek.

With numbers between 8 and 12, the downstairs Trophy Room would be the most appropriate venue and the one with the greatest WOW factor. If numbers were greater than 12, you'd dine in a private room in the upstairs restaurant. Departure time from De Bortoli's would be around 10.30pm.
